Velocity Staff, Inc. is working with our client located in Savannah, GA to identify an EMC Storage Operations Specialist with VMAX3 experience for a contract for hire opportunity.
The EMC Storage Operations Specialist provides operational support and guidance to customers for the management and use of EMC storage solutions.
Responsible for performing a wide variety of daily storage management tasks as well as providing recommendations for effective and efficient storage system
The Specialist will be responsible for performing daily operational tasks like storage provisioning, allocations, zoning, mapping and maintaining availability at the customer site
Provisions storage based on standardized procedures as outlined by enterprise best practice documentation.
Participates in the execution of the business continuance and disaster recovery plans as agreed upon by the customer.
Participates in the design and operational execution of the customer's storage disaster recovery process as required.
Performs necessary storage infrastructure maintenance in accordance with customer's change management policies.
Participates in the continual review and improvement of existing operational policies and procedures in compliance with enterprise storage management best practices. Our team leverages ITIL standards.
Executes skills in provisioning, allocations, zoning, mapping, etc.
The ideal candidate will be considered an expert in the implementation and use of EMC storage solutions (specifically VMAX3) and knowledgeable of industry best practices in the implementation of complex storage environments.
The ideal candidate will have experience in configuration, provisioning, performance management, capacity management, etc.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or technology related field preferred. Ten (10) years hands-on storage administration experience.
Technical expertise with data protection technology.
Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, planning, and decision making skills.
Good understanding of corporate IT policies, procedures and standards.
Solid understanding of system lifecycle methodologies, hardware architecture and standards.
