Overview

Velocity Staff, Inc. is working with our client located in Kansas City, MO to identify a Business Analyst I to join their team on a 9+ month contract opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with analyzing and documenting business needs and requirements.
  • Assist in the design, testing, and implementation of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
  • Assist with end user support of production systems and new technologies.
  • Assist with day-to-day production system support to end users of assigned business unit.
  • Investigate initial reports of production application outage or instability, address to appropriate technical team for resolution.
  • Maintain basic application configuration in applications related to assigned business unit.
  • Identify opportunities for business process improvements.
  • Coordinate with business/functional users and IT technical analysts to assist with new systems or system modifications, including but not limited to:
    • Assist with defining, translating and simplifying business requirements.
    • Assist with the documentation of business rules and impacted processes or systems.
    • Participate with document functional specifications.
    • Assist in developing test plans with the assigned business unit.
    • Participate and Assist application testing.
    • Collaborate to produce project documentation.
    • Participate in implementation planning.
    • Assist with training of end users for assigned business unit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years business analyst experience OR currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in related field for enrolled college candidates being considered at the entry level.
  • Understanding of standard concepts, best practices and company procedures related to the assigned business function.
  • Knowledge of technology applications used in assigned business function.
  • Understand and recognize when business practices can be improved through technology.
  • Effective written and oral communication skill, problem solving and decision making.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office; Outlook, Word and Excel including basic formulas and editing to track and report project status and other data.
  • Maintain effective cooperative relationships with both end users and IT analysts.
  • Planning skills to coordinate and complete small projects on time and on budget.
  • Manage time effectively while assuring attention to details.
  • Make sound decisions with general guidance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall analysis and support for the Client portal, including assisting with daily business activities.
  • Analysis Issues that come into the support group, assist with trouble shooting and resolution.
  • Provide support to Customer Service (CSRs) in their resolution of customer portal issues.
  • Provide support for Tier 1 and 2 customers.
  • Provide interface analysis and support for CRM, Credit and Collection and Billing, and Usage systems.
  • Support Content Management system (SiteCore), including creating and updating content, addressing issues and providing resolutions.
  • Prior experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Prior experience with portal and/or business system support.
  • Understanding of content management system any, specific experience with SiteCore desirable.
  • Understanding of CRM, billing and related business systems.
  • Prior experience with Oracle’s CCB and / or MDM desirable.
