Velocity Staff, Inc. is working with our client located in Kansas City, MO to identify a Business Analyst III to join their team on a 9+ month contract opportunity. The Business Analyst III will be responsible for analyzing and documenting business needs and requirements, assisting in the design, testing, and implementation of new applications and enhancements to existing applications and providing end user support for production systems and new technologies.

  • Assist with day-to-day production system support to end users of assigned business unit.
  • Investigate initial reports of production application outage or instability, address to appropriate technical team for resolution.
  • Maintain basic application configuration in applications related to assigned business unit.
  • Identify opportunities for business process improvements.
  • Coordinate with business/functional users and IT technical analysts to assist with new systems or system modifications, including but not limited to:
  • Assist with defining, translating and simplifying business requirements.
  • Assist with the documentation of business rules and impacted processes or systems.
  • Participate with document functional specifications.
  • Assist in developing test plans with the assigned business unit.
  • Participate and assist application testing.
  • Collaborate to produce project documentation.
  • Assist with training of end users for assigned business unit.


  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years business analyst experience OR currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  • Understanding of standard concepts, best practices and company procedures related to the assigned business function.
  • Knowledge of technology applications used in assigned business function.
  • Understand and recognize when business practices can be improved through technology.
  • Effective written and oral communication skill, problem solving and decision making.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office; Outlook, Word and Excel including basic formulas and editing to track and report project status and other data.
  • Maintain effective cooperative relationships with both end users and IT analysts.
  • Planning skills to coordinate and complete small projects on time and on budget.
  • Manage time effectively while assuring attention to details.
  • Make sound decisions with general guidance.
  • Provide overall analysis and support for the client portal, including assisting with daily business activities.
  • Provide leadership and training to other analysts.
  • Analyze issues, assist with trouble shooting and resolution.
  • Provide support to Customer Service (CSRs) in their resolution of customer portal issues.
  • Provide support for large business customers/users.
  • Provide interface analysis and support for CRM, Credit and Collection and Billing.
  • Understanding of content management system any, specific experience with Sitecore desirable.
  • Understanding of CRM, billing and related business systems.
  • Prior experience with Oracle’s CCB desirable but not required.
