    Velocity Staff, Inc. is working with our client located in Savannah, GA to identify Accounting and Finance Administrator to join their team on a 6 month contract opportunity.

    Responsibilities

    Position Purpose:

    Under minimal supervision, performs a variety of clerical and administrative tasks in support of the Accounting and Finance departments.

     

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

    Essential Functions: 1. Performs a variety of complex administrative, analytical and transactional activities in support of the Accounting and Finance departments. 2. Communicates with various departments on matters related to assigned tasks. 3. Researches and verifies various documents and reports that support the activities of assigned areas. 4. Acts as liaison between Accounting and Finance management and various departments to resolve specific problems and issues. 5. Provides input to management on improvements to existing processes, automated or manual, to improve quality, accuracy and/or reduce cost. Actively participates in implementation. 6. Supports the month-end closing activities to include assisting with audit and any other special requests. 7. Provides full administrative support through efficient management of meetings, travel coordination and full range of correspondence.

    Additional Functions: 1. Supports corporate requirement by having the ability to schedule activities in a flexible environment with firm deadlines and will maintain a professional attitude and work ethic. 2. Performs other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    High School diploma/GED required. An Associates or Bachelors in Accounting or Finance may be used in lieu of one (1) year of related work experience or two (2) years of related work experience respectively. 6 years experience in accounting or other related financial experience. Personal computer skills with knowledge of spreadsheet, database word processing and other relevant software.

     

    Other Requirements: 1. A credit history check from a national credit bureau will be conducted for all candidates for this position including new hires and current employees seeking promotion or transfer. 2. Personal computer skills with knowledge of spreadsheet, database word processing and other relevant software.
