  • Overview

    Velocity Staff, Inc. is working with our end client in Houston, TX (Medical Corridor) to identify a Technical IT Security Project Manager for a 2+ yearlong onsite project engagement (with the potential for a 3 year term).  This position requires a talented combination of technical capabilities and understanding within the IT Security space as well as strong hands-on Project Management expertise.  The selected candidate will work extensively with both internal IT Security team members, the client CISO and 3rdparty vendors and resources to accomplish large scale, business critical security initiatives for the organization.  

    Responsibilities

    The right candidate must have a track record of success and exhibit excellent capabilities to execute the following:

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Assist with scoping and implementation strategy documents required for successful completion of Cybersecurity for Office 365, Access Management CyberArk, AccessManagement STEALTHbits, Data Loss Prevention, Least Privilege, Defense in Depth and DR, EnCase and Centralized Authoritative Sources initiatives.
    • Assist with ensuring scoping and implementation strategy documents integrate with the client’s delivery processes for Cybersecurity for Office 365, AccessManagement CyberArk, Access Management STEALTHbits, Data Loss Prevention, Least Privilege, Defense in Depth and DR, EnCase and Centralized Authoritative Sources initiatives.
    • Assist with the development of final implementation workflow and detailed planning documents for Cybersecurity for Office 365, Access Management CyberArk, AccessManagement STEALTHbits, Data Loss Prevention, Least Privilege, Defense in Depth and DR, EnCase and Centralized Authoritative Sources initiatives. Secure approval on implementation workflow and detailed planning documents from the end client before implementation activities commence.
    • Work with the internal client’s Information Services and Clinical personnel to ensure implementation workflow activities do not interfere with patient care and patient safety. Secure approval on revisions to implementation workflow and planning documents, as needed, to ensure patient care and patient safety.
    • Utilize prescribed strategy and tools to monitor performance outlined in implementation workflow and planning documents for Cybersecurity for Office 365, Access Management CyberArk, AccessManagement STEALTHbits, Data Loss Prevention, Least Privilege, Defense in Depth and DR, EnCase and Centralized Authoritative Sources initiatives.
    • Assist with implementation audit reviews (as formally requested by the client) to confirm the work is complete for Cybersecurity for Office 365, Access Management CyberArk, Access Management, STEALTHbits, Data Loss Prevention, Least Privilege, Defense in Depth and DR, EnCase and Centralized Authoritative Sources initiatives. 

    In addition, the following Project Management capabilities are critical:

    • Lead information security projects from inception to completion.
    • Identify and assess project risk. Build appropriate mitigation plans into the overall project initiatives.
    • Develop a project plan detailing schedules, controls, resources, costs and daily tasks.
    • Assure overall project and service offering quality and consistency.
    • Validate, manage and control the scope of the offering and of the project.
    • Meet regularly with team to aid in identifying issues and strategies.
    • Actively monitor project budget and deliverables.
    • Consolidate and report project performance and metrics.
    • Coordinate and manage projects across various functional groups, communicating impacts.
    • Establish communication plans to facilitate core project team coordination and to provide status to management and extended project team members.
    • Effectively negotiate with customers, stakeholders, co-workers and 3rd parties.
    • Manage projects to quality and profitability standards.
    • Implement project management controls on assigned projects to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations.
    • Identify and prioritize opportunities for using project and program management to achieve the goals of the enterprise.
    • Own and drive timelines by creating and maintaining schedules (including key deliverables, milestones, and dependencies), understanding the deliverables and the progress toward each milestone, and identifying and driving resolution of all project issues.
    • Maintain commitment to project milestones and deliverables and take necessary actions including escalation as necessary to achieve commitments.
    • Ensure a strong and seamless relationship by maintaining communications about the project to the team: sales, customers and delivery personnel.
    • Maintain working relationships with subject matter experts and personnel across the organization.
