  • Overview

    Velocity Staff, Inc. is working with our client located in Overland Park, KS to identify for a 6+ month contract based opportunity, a Senior Level Project Manager to work in support of large scale / high profile website project initiatives. The right candidate will possess extensive experience working with web development projects, marketing, business stakeholders, and vendors.  This role will have extensive interaction and collaboration with multiple stakeholders and will be responsible for coordination of efforts between business units, executives, project management, business analysts, internal and external development teams and more.



    • Assess current state and coordinate the implementation of best practices from a Project Management standpoint in cooperation with existing project management staff, Website Developers (internal and external), Web Administrators, and Business Stakeholders to resolve issues.

    • Execute best practices (processes and procedures). Align project workflows to global business processes and to meet business requirements and address stakeholders needs.

    • Work with cross functional teams including Marketing and Information Technology.

    • Ability to develop functional specification documents and requirements.

    • Manage and maintain Requirements Documentation, Design Documentation, Setup Documents, etc. providing assistance when/if BA support is not available. 

    • Coordinate with Business Analyst, Marketing, Executive Team Members, Infrastructure, Consultants, PMO, and third party application vendors.

    • Coordinate with QA regarding Unit, SIT, UAT, performance testing and tuning of applications.

    • Periodic reporting of status to Management and Program Office.




    • 5+ years of IT Project Management experience.

    • Strong Agile background, preference towards lean/continuous flow process vs. scrum.

    • Full SDLC understanding.

    • Responsible for weekly status reports, budget reconciliation and capacity planning.

    • Ability to lead agile ceremonies.

    • Ability to forge relationships with business and technical teams.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Experience managing and using Kanban boards.

    • Solid understanding of web/mobile app implementations.

    • Online retail experience preferred.

    • Ability to partner with external vendors.
