  • Overview

    Velocity Staff, Inc. is working with our client located in Overland Park, KS to identify an IT Data Security Administrator to join their team.  The IT Data Security Administrator will be a technical contributor for the Information Security Management team, providing technical knowledge and consultative expertise with key IT and business unit leaders.  

    Responsibilities

    • Perform the preparation and implementation of necessary information security reports, standards, procedures and guidelines, in conjunction with the Information Security Committee.
    • Technical Security Architecture Design, Implementation, and Testing.
    • Work closely with the Manager of Information Security, provide strategic direction for the function, including planning, analysis, operational activities and awareness activities.
    • Consultant on company initiatives to ensure security and compliance requirements are met or exceeded.
    • Perform required assessments and activities as part of overall Information Security program.

     

    Additional responsibilities include:

     

    Security Support

    • Ensure stable operations of key security controls and oversight processes.
    • Review logs and reports for potential incidents and events.
    • Provide Customer Support in the detection and remediation of security incidents.
    • Oversee ongoing and recurring security activities, awareness, and risk mitigation.
    • Maintain security reports for incidents and events.

     

    Security Operations

    • Perform daily monitoring, maintenance and operation of SIEM applications.
    • Oversee the heath checks of security appliances.
    • Produce daily security and compliance reports.

     

    Compliance

    • Raise concerns and actively consult with internal teams and groups from an Information Security and Risk perspective.
    • Stays current with threats and opportunities from a risk and security perspective.
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and corporate standards.

     

     

    Qualifications

    • Two-year Information Systems Management Degree, work in progress towards a Degree or commensurate work experience required.
    • CompTia Security+ or equivalent training.
    • At least 3 years of full-time work experience in information security management and/or related functions (such as IT Audit and IT Risk Management.)
    • Experience with e-commerce and PCI regulated applications.
    • Strong conceptual, analytical, judgement and communication abilities.
