  • Overview

    Velocity Staff, Inc. is currently working with our client located in Overland Park, Kansas to identify a Senior Director of Enterprise Applications and Operations to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. The right candidate will be responsible for developing and executing Enterprise Systems and Operations strategy to align with the team, department, and overall business strategy in order to provide a clear roadmap for accounting, HR, payroll, and finance systems, as well as continual development and leadership in the development operations and application support space.

    Responsibilities

     

    Organizational Leadership, Planning and Management:   
    • Organizational management, planning, and implementation (including staffing, employee development, and budget).

    Customer and Partner Relationship Management:  

    • Maintain effective communication and planning activities with business customers at all levels.
    • Maintain effective communication and planning activities with IT internal partners and services providers.
    • Develop long-term vendor-partners to assist in providing enterprise services.

    Technical Strategy:

    • Formulate and execute a technical delivery strategy that is aligned with the enterprise architecture strategy to balance technical excellence and best practices with practical, timely, cost-effective delivery of scalable, supportable solutions.
    • Ensure Enterprise Systems and Operations needs are fully met, while ensuring the foundational processes, architecture, and standards are in place that optimize efficiency, decrease time to delivery, and provide a long-term, scalable, reliable, flexible, and secure foundation that satisfies the needs of each business area it supports.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in technology related discipline, preferably Computer Science, Software Development or Management Information Systems (necessary to develop self-direction, writing ability, critical thinking, and foundations of programming and software delivery fundamentals) OR Bachelor’s Degree in a business discipline with equivalent technology discipline experience reflected through increasing responsibility.
    • Possesses, or is in progress towards, an advanced management training curriculum, or equivalent management experience and expertise.
    • Cumulative 15+ years of experience in technology leadership and management positions.
    • 7 years experience managing technology system teams (information systems, hosting systems, etc.), managing a portfolio of technical systems supporting one or more business domains/areas and technical domains/areas, creating programs and supporting project plans, scope documents, business requirements, design, testing documentation and other deliverables within a software development lifecycle methodology.
    • 5 years experience managing successful software development and/or development operations teams.
