  • Overview

    Velocity Staff, Inc. is working with our client located in Overland Park, Kansas to identify a Senior Level Project Manager to join their team on a long term (12+ month) ongoing contract basis. The Senior Project Manager will work as part of a PMO team and work closely with IT development teams, third party vendor resources and internal business stakeholders on marketing/customer loyalty related initiatives.  Strong Agile/KANBAN Project Management experience is highly desired.  

     

    Responsibilities

    • Comprehend, understand and accurately depict program strategy, roadmaps and timelines as well as present these to Executives, other business peers and their team.
    • Excellent client and vendor relationship and management skills. Able to communicate and collaborate well with internal teams and third parties to clearly state positions and gain consensus as needed.
    • Ability to proactively identify pitfalls and potential issues and work with multiple teams to identify solutions.
    • Ability to lead teams to take the established program and projects and drive them to completion, on time and on budget.
    • Build and lead project work plan sessions to create project plans in Microsoft Project as well as keep status up to date in a Portfolio Management system.       
    • Comprehensive knowledge of Project Management principles (PMI or equivalent) with experience managing projects and teams by these methods. Understands the concepts of SDLC and can apply project management methodologies to common software development methodologies like waterfall and iterative resulting in optimal deliverables.
    • Ability to identify risks and communicate those risks to the appropriate audience and then to facilitate the mitigation of those risks.
    • Experience mapping business requirements to technology capabilities, identifying gaps and omissions and designing end-to-end solutions.
    • Expertise in the definition, implementation and continuous improvement of project processes and techniques; manage competing demands relevant to scope, schedule and cost (i.e., the 'triple constraint'), as well as both risk and quality.

    Qualifications

    • 7+ years developing solution/product design roadmaps.
    • Experience creating project plans, scope documents, and business requirements.
    • Strong organizatoinal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and consensus quickly.
    • Solid Agile Project Management experience
    • Excellent problem solving skills, creative thinking, and able to manage multiple competing priorities successfully 
    • Experience working with IT project solutions for customer loyalty and marketing iniatives
