  • Overview

    Velocity Staff, Inc. is working with our client located in Overland Park, KS to identify for a 12+ month contract based opportunity, a Senior Level Project Manager to work in support of business critical operations.  The right candidate will possess extensive experience working with data management teams, marketing, business stakeholders, and vendors.  This role will have extensive interaction and collaboration with multiple stakeholders and will be responsible for coordination of efforts between business units, executives, project management, business analysts, developers, DBA's and more.


    • Assess current state and coordinate the implementation of best practices from a Project Management standpoint in cooperation with existing project management staff, Data Management, DBA Teams, Oracle Support and Business Users to resolve issues.
    • Establish best practices (processes and procedures). Align system processes to global business processes and to meet business requirements and address current backlog queue.
    • Work with cross-functional teams including Finance and Accounting.
    • Ability to develop functional specification documentation for Reports, Interfaces, Data Conversion, Extension (including Forms Personalization) and Workflows.
    • Manage and maintain Requirements Documentation, Design Documentation, Setup Documents, etc. providing assistance when/if BA support is not available. 
    • Coordinate with Business Analyst, Process Owners, MDM, Development, DBA, Infrastructure, Consultants, EDI, BI, PMO, and third party application vendors.
    • Coordinate with QA regarding Unit, SIT, UAT, performance testing and tuning of applications.


    • Senior level Project Management expertise with emphasis in working in an Agile environment.
    • Experience working with Oracle ERP/Financials.
    • Strong Vendor Management experience
    • Experience working with IT, Marketing, and Accounting departments as well as Executive Leadership team members in a highly visible Project Leadership role.
    • Experience working with operational backlogs - evaluating current state, identifying risks, identifying inefficiencies and assisting in developing processes.
    • Ability and experience working with diverse teams and gaining trust, confidence and building rapport where collaboration and buy in are critical.
    • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience and ability to build requirements documents and perform BA duties when needed.
    • PMP strongly desired.
