Velocity Staff, Inc. is currently working with our client located in Kansas City, MO to identify a Test Automation Engineer to join their team on a 6+ month contract opportunity. The right candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining automated test scripts as well as automation frameworks as well as be responsible for the technical and project performance for all project teams.


  • Test phases supported include; System User Acceptance, Performance, and Regression Testing.
  • Responsible for identifying the necessary hardware/software required for the testing initiatives.
  • Build and maintain Automated Testing Frameworks for application portfolio.
  • Create and maintain staff plans that support business priorities and utilize the tools to manage expectations of impacted individuals and organizations.
  • Maintain knowledge of testing best practices and continually seek to improve the automation of test methodologies and tools employed by the team.
  • Partner with application users to understand current and future business Testing Automation opportunities.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant IT experience which includes Applications Development, Software Testing, and programing.
  • 3+ years of Test Automation experience is required.
  • Proven project test management experience with large scale projects that impact multiple business organizations is required.
  • The ideal candidate will also have strong technical and team leadership skills with the proven ability to work closely and coordinate information flow, project plans, and key updates to the responsible project/program manager, as well as upper management.
  • Solid and detailed technical presentation and communication skills are essential.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to non-technical users.
  • Must be organized and have project planning and management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across-project/team and understand/support business objectives and requirements of application users.
  • Experienced in partnering with multiple user communities to establish Automated Testing requirements and objectives.
  • Must have proven ability to handle high-stress situations, including multiple simultaneous project assignments and shifting priorities/requirements.
  • Knowledge of modern test methodologies in GUI/mobile device/interface testing.
  • Knowledge of automated test plans and strategies and the ability to define, track, and analyze metrics.
  • Advanced Knowledge of HP Quality Center, HP UFT, HP-QTP and HP Load Runner Tools.
  • Working Knowledge of Open Source testing tools.
  • Knowledge of Software Testing Estimating and Risk Base testing.
  • Proven ability in SQL and familiarity with relational database concepts.
